Lord Byron Quote - A Drop of Ink Million Think - Writing Quote

George Gordon Byron a.k.a Lord Byron was an English poet and major figure in the Romantic movement. Considered to be one of the greatest and most influential English poets, some of his best-known works include Don Juan and She Walks in Beauty.

In Don Juan, which is a long narrative poem, he says:

A drop of ink

may make a million think

That was the concise version.  Here’s a fuller version from the poem:

Lord Byron Quote - Words are Things

But words are things, and a small drop of ink,
Falling like dew, upon a thought, produces
That which makes thousands, perhaps millions, think;

Take a minute to think about the thought-provoking articles, stories, poems, and works of fiction and non-fiction you have read over the years.  They were written with many drops of ink, and they made you, I and many others think.

Have a great weekend!

P. S. Don’t miss the solar eclipse on Monday, August 21.  It seems most places have run out of eclipse glasses, including the library. Oh well …
